Your impactAs a core member of our Bridges and Structures team, you’ll play a major role in driving our shift toward smarter, solution-led delivery—using cutting-edge technology, digital tools, and lean ways of working to boost efficiency and create real value for our clients. You’ll bring your technical expertise, people skills, and organisational know-how to help deliver sustainable, low-carbon bridges and structures across highways, rail, aviation, energy and power projects.
This role will be based part time (2 days) in Worcestershire working from a local office/Client office and integrating with the locally based team.
About the team and scopeOur Bridges and Structures capability is part of Jacobs’ wider Transportation business, known for delivering technically complex schemes both in the UK and internationally. Our large and diverse team has earned a strong reputation through a portfolio of high-profile projects with clients including High Speed 2, National Highways, Network Rail, Welsh Government, National Contractors & Local Authorities.
Key responsibilities- Lead and mentor teams in structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, and the preparation of contract documents and technical reports
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated, high-quality services to clients
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing data-driven, automated, and standardised solutions to improve project efficiency and productivity
- Work closely with our UK and Ireland and Global Integrated Delivery teams to optimise resources and ensure efficient, successful project outcomes
- Work collaboratively with the Client, Term Maintenance Contractor and the Infrastructure Engineering Term Contractor
- Work collaboratively with the Structures Operational Manager
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
- A professional qualification ICE/IStruct
E Chartered or equivalent - Project management skills related to bridge design or other disciplines
- Strong technical design and practical problem-solving skills
Candidates may have a background in bridge design; we are equally interested in candidates from other disciplines and industries.
