Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD-focused Designer who is looking to develop their career within a supportive, office-based environment.

The Role

This position will primarily focus on mechanical design using AutoCAD, supporting the development of high-quality engineered solutions. The majority of design work is completed in 2D; however, 3D experience would be highly beneficial.

There is also an opportunity to integrate sales responsibilities into the role. Candidates with experience in both design and customer-facing or sales functions will be at a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

* Produce detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD (primarily 2D)

* Develop and modify design concepts to meet client specifications

* Create and review technical documentation

* Liaise with internal teams to ensure project requirements are met

* Support technical discussions with clients where required

* Assist with sales activities, quotations, and customer engagement (where applicable)

Requirements

* Proven experience using AutoCAD (essential)

* Strong 2D CAD experience (3D experience advantageous)

* Background in mechanical design or engineering

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Experience in a sales or customer-facing role (highly desirable)
