Our client, a pioneering technology business based in Oxfordshire, is investing heavily in research and development and is now seeking a Senior Verification & Measurement Engineer to play a central role in validating and industrialising their next‑generation Optical Systems.

This position offers the chance to shape how innovative Optical technology is tested, measured and proven — from early‑stage prototypes through to pilot production.

In this role, you will:
  • Take full responsibility for the performance and direction of the test and measurement facility
  • Transform product specifications into structured validation plans and measurable criteria
  • Design and execute durability, environmental, life‑cycle and reliability assessments
  • Establish clear traceability between requirements, test evidence and compliance outcomes
  • Refine and enhance measurement processes to ensure precision and repeatability
  • Collaborate closely with product design and manufacturing teams to support smooth scale‑up
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to laboratory technicians

You will be instrumental in ensuring that advanced lens systems meet exacting performance standards before reaching wider production.

About You

You are likely an experienced engineer who thrives in a technically rigorous, hands‑on environment. You enjoy combining analytical thinking with practical experimentation and take pride in delivering reliable, defensible data.

  • Proven experience managing or significantly contributing to laboratory‑based verification and measurement activities
  • Solid knowledge of dimensional inspection, tolerancing principles and measurement strategy development
  • Experience supporting new products as they transition from development into early‑stage manufacture
  • Confidence interpreting technical drawings and defining appropriate inspection approaches The ability to communicate findings clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to prioritise and manage multiple testing streams

Exposure to advanced measurement systems, surface analysis, environmental testing, force or torque measurement, or optical/lens‑related evaluation would be advantageous.
