Senior Software Test Engineer

An established engineering business developing advanced electro-mechanical systems is looking for a Software Validation & Verification Engineer to join its growing team.

This role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering function and focuses on building and improving robust validation processes for embedded software and firmware used in new product development.

• Develop and implement structured software/firmware validation processes
• Create and maintain test environments for new and modified code
• Work closely with mechanical, electronics and systems engineers
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies including planning, reviews and retrospectives
• Document, test and validate developed code
• Support internal and external stakeholders with troubleshooting
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering projects

You will also help maintain compliance with quality standards and internal procedures.

A degree in Computer Science or similar

• Strong experience leading or delivering software/firmware validation activities
• Solid background in software design and test
• Experience with C, C++, C# (.NET) and ideally LabVIEW
• Experience testing safety-critical functions
• Full software lifecycle experience, including documentation and revision control
• Experience working in small, Agile teams

• Embedded systems development
• High-level electronics knowledge (e.g. schematic review)
• Understanding of structured design methodologies

Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites may be required. Full UK driving licence required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
