Job Description

Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead for the UK, your role will involve delivering work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands area predominantly, with opportunities in the North West of England and in consultancy roles. Progression possibilities exist across the UK water, environment, and nuclear sectors.

Key Responsibilities General
  • NEC3/4 Option A/C/E ECC Contract management and administration client side
  • Budget control
  • Payment valuation and assisting PM in payment certification
  • Actual cost forecasting and defined cost determination
  • Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues
Pre-Contract
  • Feasibility studies and cost planning
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Evaluation of tenders
  • Risk management
Post-Contract
  • Management and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms
  • Cost control and valuation
  • Evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
  • Claims and dispute resolution
  • Final accounts and post-project evaluation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Full Membership of a chartered body such as RICS or a substantially progressed route on an approved APC pathway
  • Experience postgraduate in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment
  • Line management and recruitment experience of Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors
  • CDM regulation knowledge and experience
  • Risk management experience
  • Valid CSCS card, Water Hygiene Card desirable
  • Main contractor and/or joint venture experience working client side
  • Site presence and co‑location minimum 3 days a week
  • Experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A‑C‑E must have)
