Programme Quality Engineer
Midlands (UK) – Contract (Outside IR35) or Permanent
The RoleWe’re looking for a Programme Quality Engineer to drive quality excellence across new product introductions, ensuring robust planning and flawless execution from concept through to production. You’ll play a key role in delivering APQP milestones, supporting customer requirements, and embedding proactive quality practices across the full programme lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Support APQP deliverables and ensure alignment with customer expectations
- Drive quality activities across NPI, including ISIR, capability studies, AAR, and PPAP
- Develop and optimise measurement systems using SPC and support DOE activities
- Contribute to design reviews and prototype builds
- Create and maintain Control Plans and support D/PFMEA reviews
- Prepare, review, and audit PPAP submission packs
- Lead root cause analysis (8D) and implement effective containment actions
- Provide training and guidance to cross-functional teams on quality standards
- Support production teams to meet customer and quality requirements
- Ensure successful PSW submission and approval
Promote continuous improvement through data-driven and digital quality methods
- Proven experience in Quality Engineering within the automotive sector
- Qualified to Degree, HND, HNC, IQA level or equivalent
- Strong expertise in Control Plans and PFMEA development and auditing
- Experience with APIS IQ (or similar) for PFMEA and Control Plans
- Solid background in PPAP preparation and review
- Confident conducting audits and influencing cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Background in plastics and/or complex assembly (desirable)
- Experience working with OEMs such as Jaguar Land Rover (advantageous)
