We are working with a leading timber frame design and construction company specialising in the delivery of sustainable, energy-efficient buildings across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their technical team with the appointment of an experienced Structural Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business working on a range of bespoke timber projects, particularly within the commercial and education sectors. The company is especially interested in individuals with experience in CLT, Glulam or other timber systems.
As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural design and technical development of timber frame and engineered timber projects. You will work closely with architects, designers, project managers and clients to deliver practical, compliant and innovative engineering solutions.
As a Structural Engineer, you will:
Produce structural calculations and technical designs for timber frame and mass timber projects.
Work on a range of commercial, educational and bespoke developments.
Collaborate with internal design teams, architects and external consultants throughout project delivery.
Ensure designs comply with relevant UK building regulations and Eurocodes.
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients where required.
Assist with the development and optimisation of engineering solutions across projects.
We are looking for a Structural Engineer who has:
Previous experience working within timber engineering or timber frame design.
Experience with CLT, Glulam or commercial timber structures would be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and UK building regulations.
Experience using structural design software and CAD packages.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
