About the Role

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading UK engineering manufacturer delivering high-integrity, safety-critical systems for some of the country's most advanced projects.

You'll be at the forefront of electrical design and development - taking concepts from specification through to production ensuring that every design meets exacting technical, safety, and compliance standards. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited to someone who wants to see their designs move from drawing board to reality in a modern, precision-engineering environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and deliver end-to-end electrical design - from concept development and risk reduction through to validation and production readiness.

  • Produce detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials using Solid Works Electrical or EPLAN.

  • Develop supporting technical documentation, including calculations, material justifications, test plans
    , and compliance reports.

  • Ensure all designs are fully compliant with relevant technical, safety, and legislative requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver fully integrated engineered solutions.

  • Provide technical support during build, test, and commissioning
, ensuring seamless handover to production.

What You'll Bring
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
    .

  • Proven experience in electrical design for engineered products or systems - ideally within complex, high-integrity environments (marine, transport, or advanced manufacturing).

  • Proficiency in Solid Works Electrical and/or EPLAN
    .

  • Strong understanding of UK and international electrical standards (BS EN, IEC).

  • Ability to document and communicate technical findings clearly and professionally.

  • British National (essential for security clearance requirements).

What's on Offer
  • The chance to work on nationally significant projects where your work makes a tangible impact.

  • A stable, established organisation with a reputation for engineering excellence and product reliability.

  • Supportive team environment with career progression and professional development opportunities.
