As an R&D Applications Engineer, you will:
- Design and build test rigs and experimental setups for sensor validation
- Conduct sensor testing, data analysis, and performance validation
- Support development of fluid sensing, monitoring, and process technology applications
- Work with internal R&D teams and external engineers on real-world engineering challenges
- Evaluate applications of bespoke sensors across industrial and process environments
- Contribute to feasibility studies, product development, and pre-commercial R&D projects
- Attend engineering sites, customer locations, and industry events to assess sensor applications
To succeed in this Applications Engineer job, you should have:
- Degree in:
- Chemical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Process Engineering
- Biochemical Engineering
- Chemistry or related discipline
- 2–4 years’ experience in:
- Applications engineering
- R&D engineering
- Test engineering or laboratory environments
- Experience with sensor technology, instrumentation, or fluid systems (desirable)
- Strong problem-solving and practical engineering skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and engineering environments
