Reliability Engineer

Birmingham (B71)

£52,000 - £56,000

Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm

Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturer that values hard work, teamwork and developing people? They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. They are looking for a Reliability Engineer to help to contribute towards their site maintenance development strategy.

Role & Responsibilities as a Reliability Engineer
  • Responsible for looking at engineering performance, ensuring machinery, systems & service operate efficiently and effectively
  • Reviewing and developing new PPM's and leading continuous improvement activities
  • Machine condition monitoring and asset care management
  • Identifying obsolete spares/parts, liaising with suppliers & OEM's
  • Work closely with shift engineers to identify problems before they happen and suggest improvements
  • Carry out RCA investigations and present weekly KPs & performance updates
  • Manage plant overhauls, planning weekly shutdown schedules & contractor control
Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be a Reliability Engineer
  • Previous experience of being a hands‑on maintenance engineer would be beneficial
  • Must have worked in food or FMCG manufacturing, ideally in a 24/7 operation
  • Experience in a similar asset care, reliability, continuous improvement engineering role
  • Must be NVQ Level 3 or higher qualified in engineering, ideally with an apprenticeship
  • Strong problem solver, able to think outside the box and suggest improvements
  • Good at assessing PPM's and creating new ones
  • Excellent communicator – working closely with engineers, contractors, suppliers, OEM's
  • Project engineering experience would be great
  • Strong machine condition monitoring & RCA experience
