Job Description Overview
As a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in our Bridges and Civils team within the Transportation business, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation. We work on a diverse range of significant and challenging projects across the UK and Ireland, including Midlands Rail Hub, East West Rail, Lower Thames Crossing, and a variety of National Highways Schemes.
The team also supports non‑transportation civil engineering and structures projects throughout the UK and internationally such as the Water Market or Nuclear schemes including the Rolls Royce Small Modular Reactor programme.
Manage high‑quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance, and assessments. Collaborate with national and international design teams, using your expertise and leadership to create positive, sustainable impacts. Oversee the production and review of design documentation, including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications. Independently carry out project management work and provide guidance to junior staff. Lead teams in the design, assessment, and maintenance of structural or railway civil engineering projects, multi‑disciplinary projects, and bridges.
Develop and agree scopes, manage the internal technical supply chain, budgets, programme, and quality of deliverables. Lead bids and tenders, win work, and develop client relationships.
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline with practical experience of civil engineering or structures projects.
- A professional qualification such as (CEng/IEng) and membership of the ICE or IStruct
E or a professional Project Management Qualification. - Practical experience of managing transportation projects.
- Experience working with key clients such as Network Rail, HS2, local authorities or major contractors and developers.
- NEC4 Project Management Accreditation or demonstrable experience managing NEC4 projects.
- Experience of bidding and winning work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across engineering disciplines.
- Good project management skills, commercial awareness, financial control and ability to deliver across a range of contract types, including managing stakeholders such as specialist suppliers, independent checkers and local authorities.

Security ClearanceThis role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK for 5 years or longer.
