Job DescriptionThe Industrial Advisory team at AECOM seeks talented individuals for Consultant, Senior Consultant, and Principal Consultant levels. You will support high‑value consultancy projects, delivering technical excellence and commercial success, while developing our Process Optimisation capability.
Roles & Responsibilities- Support delivery of high‑value consultancy projects and contribute to commercial success.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma and industrial engineering techniques to analyse and improve client operations.
- Develop data‑driven insights and translate them into practical, deliverable solutions.
- Deliver projects and work streams on time, within budget and to agreed quality.
- Build effective relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and thought leadership.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM.
- Contribute to development of best‑practice methods and standards.
- Support capability development through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Operate with increasing autonomy, accountability and client responsibility at your level.
- Motivated by solving complex industrial challenges.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, process improvement or related operational environment.
- Experience working within or alongside highly regulated industries (defence, aviation, nuclear, infrastructure, manufacturing).
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems and develop practical, value‑driven solutions.
- Experience applying Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Degree, HND or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing or related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Professional membership (or working towards) is beneficial.
- Process mapping, analysis and optimisation.
- Production systems, facility design or industrial operations.
- Data analysis and performance improvement.
- Project delivery and workstream management.
- Ability to translate analysis into actionable recommendations.
- Automation, robotics or manufacturing systems integration.
- Digital manufacturing, simulation or data analytics tools.
- Experience applying Lean principles in non‑manufacturing environments.
- Consulting or advisory experience in complex project environments.
This role will be based in a UK AECOM office (e.g., Bristol, Birmingham, London, Manchester). Hybrid working arrangements are offered and travel to client sites across the UK and, where necessary, internationally is required.
