Do you have strong experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault within a regulated engineering environment?
Can you confidently produce detailed mechanical designs while supporting manufacturing and test queries?
The OpportunityWe’re supporting a leading engineering consultancy in the search for a Senior Mechanical Designer to contribute to high-profile, technically challenging projects within a regulated environment.
The RoleThis role would suit candidates working in these roles;
Senior Mechanical Designer, Mechanical Design Engineer, CAD Designer, Design Engineer, Senior CAD Engineer, Mechanical CAD Engineer, Equipment Design Engineer, Plant Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Designer. We would also welcome applications from these industries;
Defence, nuclear, oil and gas, aerospace, heavy engineering.
- Create and refine detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, including general arrangements, assemblies, layouts, and fabrication details
- Produce accurate and compliant design documentation in line with recognised engineering standards
- Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing queries, including concessions and production-related challenges
- Assist in addressing testing issues and technical queries to ensure designs perform as expected
- Support the design and detailing of mechanical equipment, machinery, and plant systems
- Proven experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault for design and document control
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and geometric tolerancing principles (e.g. BS 8888 and ISO standards)
- Experience supporting manufacturing and testing through effective resolution of design-related queries
- Background in detailed mechanical design of industrial equipment or plant-based systems
- Awareness of design safety, risk assessment, and relevant legislation such as CDM, PUWER or LOLER is advantageous
