Electronics Engineer – Colchester

The Role
  • Test and diagnose electronic components using specialist diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Identify faults at both unit and PCB level and carry out effective repairs.
  • Dismantle, remanufacture and restore electronic assemblies to original performance standards.
  • Carry out PCB‑level repair and component replacement activities.
  • Perform final testing and quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to continuously improve technical knowledge and repair processes.
The Person
  • Strong practical knowledge of electronics and electronic fault finding.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with PCB‑level soldering and electronic component handling.
  • Understanding of automotive electronic systems, ECUs or EV electronics would be highly advantageous.
  • Confident using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
