This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded and technically accomplished fire safety professional to take ownership of a high-profile service line within a respected consultancy, helping shape its future direction while delivering industry-leading expertise to clients across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Leading and developing the FRAEW and external wall assessment division.
Providing technical oversight on complex external wall and fire safety projects.
Managing and mentoring a growing team of consultants, engineers and assessors.
Supporting business development activities and strengthening client relationships.
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and industry best practice.
Acting as the senior technical authority for FRAEW assessments and related fire safety consultancy services.
Contributing to strategic business planning and growth initiatives.
Representing the business at industry forums, client meetings and professional events.
We are seeking an experienced leader with a strong reputation within the fire safety sector and a proven track record of delivering FRAEW and external wall assessment services.
Requirements
Significant experience within fire safety consultancy, fire engineering or building safety.
Demonstrable expertise in FRAEW assessments and external wall systems.
Relevant professional qualifications in fire engineering, fire safety, building surveying, engineering or a related discipline.
Chartered status or working towards chartership with a recognised professional body.
Strong understanding of PAS 9980, Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and associated guidance.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Excellent commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
Ability to develop and grow service offerings within a consultancy environment.
