Up to £48,000 (dependant on experience)
Working Pattern:
Hybrid - 2 Days Office / 3 Days Home
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a highly respected building services consultancy in Birmingham. This is an excellent role for a Mechanical Engineer looking to further develop technically while progressing towards Senior Engineer level, working on a diverse portfolio of technically interesting projects across multiple sectors. The business has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality building services design solutions and is currently involved in a broad range of projects across Education, Communal Residential, Commercial, Healthcare, Hotels and Listed Buildings.
Typical project values range from £12m - £20m, with larger schemes reaching £50m - £60m+.
- Produce mechanical building services designs across a range of sectors.
- Design systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated plant.
- Support projects through various RIBA stages, from concept through to detailed design.
- Prepare technical calculations, reports, specifications and design documentation.
- Coordinate with internal and external design teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, architects, contractors and consultants.
- Contribute to the delivery of efficient, sustainable and technically robust design solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant UK regulations and industry standards.
- Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Building Services Engineer within a consultancy environment.
- Experience designing HVAC and mechanical building services systems.
- Understanding of UK building regulations and mechanical design standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES VE or similar would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and desire to progress professionally.
- Salary up to £48,000 dependant on experience.
