An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its growing Birmingham office. This opportunity is suited to candidates who are currently based in the Birmingham area and are looking to develop their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of civil engineering projects, producing detailed designs and supporting projects from initial concept through to construction. The role offers exposure to a variety of developments across sectors, providing excellent opportunities for professional growth and career progression.

The Role

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

Producing civil engineering designs for a range of development projects.
Designing highways, drainage and external works in accordance with current standards.
Preparing technical reports, calculations and engineering drawings.
Liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary design teams.
Supporting projects through planning, detailed design and construction stages.
Attending site visits and design meetings where required.
Ensuring work is delivered to agreed quality standards and project deadlines.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a civil engineering consultancy undertaking design work.
Knowledge of drainage and highway design principles.
Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Micro Drainage/Info Drainage or Causeway Flow.
A good understanding of UK design standards and regulations.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A desire to continue developing professionally, with support towards chartership if required.
