Our Water team is on the lookout for a passionate Flood Modeller to join our dynamic and rapidly growing Water Business Line. Here’s what you’ll do:
At AECOM, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality flood modelling and hydrology projects. Under general supervision, you will:
- Undertake a range of technical and administrative tasks of limited to moderate complexity related to groundwater investigations and hydrological studies.
- Contribute to assignments spanning the wider field of hydrology and related disciplines, working to defined project terms with regular guidance and review from senior professionals.
- Analyse hydrological and environmental data, developing models and preparing clear, concise technical reports.
- Monitor and interpret data to assess the impacts of upstream activities, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Water Resources, or a related discipline
- Experience in hydraulic and hydrological modelling (e.g., HEC‑RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE FLOOD, Info Works ICM)
- Strong understanding of flood risk assessment, drainage, and river processes
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS)
- Experience analysing large datasets and preparing technical reports
- Knowledge of relevant flood risk regulations, planning policy, and environmental standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks effectively and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
