Senior Bridge Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 consultancy in Birmingham. This is an opportunity to work across a range of major infrastructure frameworks, delivering high‑quality bridge and structure projects.

Compensation:
Up to £48ph – £64ph (Inside IR35) / £360 – £480 per day. 6‑month initial contract, likely extension beyond into healthy pipeline.

Start date:

ASAP.

• Lead and support the design and assessment of highway and rail bridge structures.
• Produce and review technical calculations, drawings, and reports.
• Work across multiple frameworks, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to standard.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

• Proven experience as a Bridge Engineer within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards (e.g. DMRB, Eurocodes).
• Experience working on highways and/or rail structures.
• Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.
• Chartered or near Chartered status (ICE or IStructE).
