I am recruiting for a Civil Engineer to join a respected consultancy in Birmingham delivering residential and commercial development projects. This is a strong opportunity for a Civil Engineer with solid drainage and infrastructure design experience who wants progression within a supportive, well established civil engineering team.

This Civil Engineer role focuses on private and adoptable drainage design from concept through to technical approval. As a Civil Engineer, you will work closely with senior staff, contribute to S38, S278 and S104 submissions and build valuable client-facing experience. You will liaise with clients, local authority officers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth coordination across all project stages.

• Produce detailed foul and surface water drainage designs using Micro Drainage or Info Drainage
• Prepare S38, S278 and S104 technical submissions
• Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD with PDS or Civil 3D
• Liaise with clients, council officers and internal design teams
• Support feasibility studies, technical reports and project documentation
• Contribute to planning coordination and quality assurance activities
• Develop technical capability through project-based learning and structured training

• Degree qualified Civil Engineer or related discipline
• Three to four years UK experience in drainage and highways design
• Confident using AutoCAD, PDS or Civil 3D, and Micro Drainage or Info Drainage
• Strong communication, numeracy and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable managing multiple projects in a consultancy environment

This Civil Engineer position offers progression, stability and development. The salary on offer is £40,000 - £45,000 plus benefits, including flexible and hybrid working, regular pay reviews, pension, bonus scheme and paid professional subscriptions.
