The Highways Planner role, based in Birmingham, is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £33,000 to £43,000 per annum.

This position involves preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans for development-focused projects.

You will conduct junction modelling using ARCADY, PICADY, or LINSIG, and liaise with clients and local authorities.

The role requires UK consultancy experience in transport planning, particularly with residential and infrastructure schemes.

This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects within a specialist consultancy.

Highways Planner Birmingham Permanent | Full Time

We are recruiting for a growing transport planning and highways consultancy, they are seeking a Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join its Birmingham office.

This role is suited to candidates with UK consultancy experience in development-focused transport planning, including preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, junction modelling, and highways development projects.

Key experience required

  • Client and local authority liaison
  • UK transport planning consultancy experience

The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure schemes within a collaborative and growing consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
  • Development and coordination of Travel Plans
  • Preparation of technical reports, drawings, and supporting data
  • Junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
  • Liaison with clients, contractors, and local authorities
  • Delivery of high-quality outputs on time and within budget
  • Review and checking of junior team outputs
  • Support and mentoring of junior staff
  • Contribution to project delivery from feasibility through to detailed design
  • Site visits, surveys, and data collection
  • Preparation of written reports and presentations
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation
  • Supporting the growth of the Birmingham office
Qualification requirement
  • Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 2-5 years UK Transport Planning experience
  • CIHT membership (or working towards)
