Mobile Combustion Engineer
Birmingham - The majority of the work will be based in the West Midlands covering Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent but it will also cover other parts of the Midlands.
£43,000 + Van and Fuel Card
BriefMobile Combustion Engineer needed for a large well known Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mobile Combustion Engineer that takes pride in their work.
The successful candidate must have a City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing and have a keen interest in becoming a Mobile Combustion Engineer.

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Combustion Engineer will include:
- Working on the following equipment but not limited to;
Commercial Boilers, Associated Gas Equipment, Gas Fire Radiant Heaters, Water Heaters, Control valves, Domestic Boilers - Cover numerous sites that fall within the contract such as Stoke Schools and Guide Dogs
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator
- Complete supplementary documentation / E-Forms relating to the maintenance task as dictated by your line manager
- Update customers CAFM system in real time with start/wait/stop completion times and provide full description of works undertaken, advising of any follow-on works required
- Ensure reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Identify and record all plant failures using quotation forms and issue to line manager. This is to be indicated and recorded within the CAFM system
- Take part in the on call rota
- A recognised industry qualification will be required, and previous experience is essential
- CCN1:
Core Domestic Gas Safety (mandatory for domestic work) - COCN1:
Core Commercial Gas Safety (mandatory for commercial work) - CPA1:
Combustion Performance Analysis (often bundled with core) [1,2] - Domestic (Natural Gas): CENWAT (boilers)
- Commercial/Industrial:
Includes CODNCO1 (domestic to commercial switch) - CIGA1/CDGA1: (commercial appliances), and pipework certifications like ICPN1
- BMP1:
Gas boosters Medium pressure - CCP1:
Commission of commercial plant - CDGA1:
Commission, Service Direct Fired Heaters - C&G Level 3 Plumbing
- Trade qualified Combustion Engineer with appropriate post apprenticeship experience desirable
- Commercial & Domestic Boiler experience
- Must have a full drivers' licence
