The Opportunity

Join our 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in our Birmingham office, where you will support our Water discipline by contributing to site characterisation, ground investigation, geotechnical assessment and design work across a range of multidisciplinary projects.

As a Stantec graduate, you will collaborate with your local team, wider Water colleagues and Early Careers cohort, developing your geotechnical expertise within a supportive and interdisciplinary environment.

You will join our national geotechnical team, which supports projects from site investigation and ground characterisation through to geotechnical design. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to water-sector and infrastructure projects, helping clients understand ground conditions and develop practical, sustainable design solutions.

Your work is likely to include site characterisation projects involving ground investigation, with opportunities for site work depending on location and project needs. You will support varied project work across sectors, applying strong numeracy, writing and communication skills while developing your technical capability.

About

The Role

As part of our Water discipline, you will support geotechnical work across varied projects. Your core areas of development will include:

  • Preparing ground investigation specifications.

  • Preparing ground investigation reports.

  • Supporting site characterisation and ground assessment activities.

  • Conducting fundamental geotechnical design calculations.

  • Potentially supervising ground investigation activities, depending on project needs and location.

  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across Water and other disciplines to support project delivery.

About you
