Yournew role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering robust mechanical design solutions from early concept through to project completion. You'll take responsibility for leading design elements, supporting the coordination of multidisciplinary teams and representing the consultancy in both client and contractor meetings.
Your role will include producing and reviewing calculations, drawings and specifications; guiding junior colleagues; contributing to project strategy; selecting appropriate plant and technologies; and ensuring designs meet sustainability and low‑carbon objectives. You'll also attend site visits to review installation progress and help maintain high technical standards across the team.
A degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services EngineeringA strong track record delivering mechanical design in a building services environment
Proficiency in relevant design software such as Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux and Microsoft Office
Solid understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry best practice
Experience incorporating renewable, low‑carbon and energy‑efficient solutions
Awareness of BREEAM and sustainable design principles
Knowledge of electrical interfaces for multidisciplinary coordination
Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE) or commitment to progression
Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and project partners
