We are supporting a leading engineering contractor delivering major UK energy infrastructure projects, and they are looking to bring on multiple experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineers to support a growing programme of work.
This is an exciting opportunity for engineers looking for their next challenge, working on major HV infrastructure projects including substations, grid connections and renewable energy developments.
You will play a key role in taking critical electrical assets through testing and commissioning and into energisation and final handover, working alongside experienced commissioning teams and major industry stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical commissioning and testing activities from pre-commissioning through to energisation and handover.
- Commission and test HV electrical equipment and systems across major infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with Commissioning Managers, SAPs and specialist subcontractors on site.
- Review and work to commissioning procedures, method statements and test documentation.
- Identify, investigate and resolve commissioning and testing issues.
- Liaise with DNOs, National Grid, OEMs and other project stakeholders where required.
- Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications.
- Support the successful energisation and handover of electrical assets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer on HV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of substations, switch gear and transformers.
- Previous experience carrying out electrical testing and commissioning activities.
- Experience working through commissioning and into energisation.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, test procedures and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and site procedures.
- SAP experience or relevant authorisations would be advantageous.
