We are seeking an experienced Ground & Water EIA Lead to strengthen the connection between our Ground & Water and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) teams across the UK.

This is a strategic and collaborative role focused on coordinating Ground & Water inputs into major infrastructure, energy, water, property and regeneration projects. You'll act as the key interface between the EIA community and Ground & Water specialists, ensuring technical excellence, consistency and efficient project delivery.

A little more about your role...

As the Ground & Water EIA Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating the contribution of Ground & Water specialists to EIA projects across the business.

You will work closely with EIA Project Managers, Technical Directors and Market Leaders to identify opportunities, plan resources and ensure that Ground & Water services are effectively integrated into project delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary liaison between the Ground & Water and EIA teams across the UK.
  • Coordinating Ground & Water support for EIA projects from bid stage through to project completion.
  • Working with EIA Project Managers to identify resource requirements and secure appropriately qualified specialists.
  • Supporting the development of scopes of work, fee proposals and project programmes.
  • Providing technical oversight and quality assurance of Ground & Water inputs to Environmental Statements and supporting assessments.
  • Promoting consistency in assessment methodologies, significance criteria and mitigation strategies across projects.
  • Maintaining visibility of future EIA opportunities and supporting resource forecasting.
  • Working with regional leaders to optimise utilisation and balance workloads across the Ground & Water business.
  • Supporting strategic bids and major pursuits requiring significant environmental assessment input.
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing, lessons learned and best practice between Ground & Water and EIA communities.
  • Helping develop technical capability through mentoring, training and professional development initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow Ground & Water involvement in major environmental assessment programmes.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...

  • Degree qualified in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a relevant professional institution.
  • Strong understanding of the UK EIA process and environmental planning framework.
  • Significant experience in one or more Ground & Water disciplines, including contaminated land, hydrogeology, geology, groundwater, water environment or environmental permitting.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure or development projects.
  • Strong understanding of how Ground & Water assessments support environmental assessment and planning processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate technical teams across multiple offices and disciplines.
  • Strong commercial awareness and project delivery experience.
  • Ability to build networks, influence stakeholders and foster collaboration across the business.
