Location:
BirminghamA well-established environmental and geotechnical consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join their Birmingham team. The role will suit an experienced geoenvironmental professional looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied project portfolio, with a good balance of site work, technical reporting and project management.
You will work across a range of contaminated land, ground investigation and remediation projects, supporting projects from initial investigation through to assessment, reporting and remediation.
The Role:
Managing and supervising ground investigations and contaminated land assessments
Producing Phase 1 Preliminary Risk Assessments and Phase 2 Site Investigation reports
Reviewing historical, geological and environmental data Developing conceptual site models and undertaking contamination risk assessments
Soil, groundwater and gas monitoring and sampling
Managing subcontractors and site investigation contractors
Interpreting laboratory data and assessing potential pollutant linkages
Producing remediation strategies and validation reports
Supporting remediation projects and overseeing validation works
Preparing technical reports and presenting findings to clients
Managing projects, budgets and programmes
Liaising with clients, regulators, contractors and other consultants
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team Requirements:
Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Geology or a related discipline
Strong experience within geoenvironmental consultancy
Experience delivering contaminated land and ground investigation projects
Good understanding of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance
Experience with Phase 1 and Phase 2 investigations
Strong technical report writing skills
Commercial awareness and experience managing projects
Full UK driving licence
