The Vacancy
Advantage RSK, an RSK Group company, are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team based in the West Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities- Supporting an internal team to ensure deliverables and priorities are met.
- Responsible for pre-and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
- Support the project team with tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place.
- Supporting the Commercial Manager or other members of the project team with managing client expectations with regards to priorities and deliverables.
- Managing financial and commercial delivery of contracts including preparing applications for payment, managing cash and collection, change control, supply chain management through to final account negotiation and agreement.
- Provide input with financial reporting including cost value reconciliation of accounts including cash forecast, final costs, monthly liabilities and payments.
- Ensure sound contract administration of contracts including adherence to contractual notifications such as early warning, notification of compensation events, payment notices and payless notices, programme submissions, and all other contractual communications.
- Support the project team by advising client on strategies, managing prequalification of vendors, assessing proposals, bids, and bid levelling documents, making final recommendations to the client and attending bid interviews, and managing appointment process.
- Advising client on contractual and commercial matters.
- Contributing to business development including client management.
- Assisting with financial reporting of the business including compliance with any group requirements.
- Mentoring of the team and providing day to day support.
- Minimum of five years’ experience
- BSc (Hons) degree accredited by RICS, or equivalent degree
- Professionally qualified (or working towards membership) with RICS, CIArb or CIOB
- Driving licence
