Piping Engineer, Process Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Your impact
Join a collaborative organization delivering semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities for industry-leading clients around the world!
This role places you at the heart of a multi-disciplinary, highly integrated engineering team dedicated first and foremost to delivering world-class semiconductor manufacturing facilities—the most complex, high-tech environments being built anywhere today. Semiconductor facility design is the core of our mission, driving an exceptional level of technical rigour, coordination, and innovation across every discipline.
You'll join a vibrant, fast-paced team that partners with industry-leading semiconductor clients around the globe, producing designs that meet the extreme precision, cleanliness, and reliability standards required for modern chip fabrication. We engineer some of the most sophisticated and specialised semiconductor facilities in the world, where ultra-clean environments, advanced process systems, and highly controlled utilities converge.
Our project portfolio spans feasibility studies, long-range semiconductor capacity planning, and full design delivery including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction-phase services for both design/bid/build and design/build programmes.
As a Piping Designer
, you will develop piping layouts, 3D models, and construction deliverables for complex facilities while working closely with engineers and multidisciplinary design teams. You will support the successful execution of projects through quality design, discipline coordination, constructability awareness, and field verification.
Key responsibilities
- Develop piping layouts, routing, and 3D models using CADWorx for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Produce piping deliverables including plans, sections, isometrics, details, material take-offs, sketches, and construction drawings.
- Interpret P&IDs, piping specifications, vendor documentation, and engineering requirements.
- Model piping systems and supports in accordance with project standards, client requirements, and industry practices.
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, and Electrical disciplines to resolve design issues and support integrated project delivery.
- Support the design of semiconductor utility and process piping systems, including systems such as UPW, PCW, CDA, process gas, chemical distribution, and waste collection.
- Perform model reviews and self-checks to ensure accurate, complete, and coordinated deliverables.
- Conduct field walkdowns, site surveys, and design verification activities as required.
- Identify constructability concerns, scope changes, and design impacts and communicate them proactively.
- Provide technical support to engineers, project teams, and construction support activities.
- Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams supporting global project execution.
Here’s what you’ll need
- 5+ years of piping design experience in industrial facilities.
- Minimum 3 years of recent CADWorx piping design and modeling experience.
- Experience producing piping models, drawings, and construction deliverables.
- Understanding of piping specifications, materials, equipment interfaces, pipe supports, and piping layout fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, and engineering documentation.
