We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Graduate Environmentalist to join our Midlands team in our city centre Birmingham office.

The Consulting Environment team at Amey work on a vast array of infrastructure projects across the UK with the Midlands Team predominantly (but not exclusively) focussing on National Highways road renewal contracts. Our work centres around supporting National Highways decarbonisation, sustainability and environmental ambition across its renewals programme. Together with our engineering colleagues, we provide routine highways, bridges and structure renewals projects in an environmentally sustainable manner whilst still achieving client satisfaction.

As a Graduate Environmentalist, you will be working alongside a UK-wide team to ensure the effective undertaking of statutory, informative and best‑practice driven environmental deliverables for our clients. Over the course of your time as a Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work within different specialist environmental disciplines and enhance your technical skills.

You will work alongside the team to:

• Prepare environmental screening and scoping assessments.
• Consult with clients, local authorities and stakeholders.
• Assist in environmental site‑surveys for disciplines including air quality, noise and vibration, ecology, arboriculture and the water environment.
• Advise on environmental aspects of projects including (but not limited to) Environmental Impact Assessments, ecological studies, energy use and environmental hazards.
• Keep up to date with industry best practice, helping to provide guidance on best methods of practice to meet technical and project requirements for our clients.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental and other appropriate regulations.
