As part of ongoing succession planning, we are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing products and supporting others within the team. You'll play a key role in the development, improvement and manufacture of electromechanical products, working closely with production, suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, commercially viable engineering solutions.

The Role Lead mechanical design activities from concept through to manufacture. Drive New Product Development (NPD) and continuous product improvement projects. Produce and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation. Work closely with manufacturing teams to improve product performance, reliability and manufacturability. Support validation, testing, DFMEA and root cause investigations. Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications, quality and design improvements.

Provide mentoring and technical support to junior members of the engineering team. Collaborate with electrical and multidisciplinary engineering functions to deliver integrated product solutions.

The Person Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar. Experience delivering products from concept through to production. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM). Experience working within product development or engineering design environments. Exposure to electromechanical products, electrical integration or automation systems. Previous mentoring, supervisory or line management experience. Comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality and supplier teams.

CAD experience such as Solid Works, Creo, Inventor or similar.
