Senior Trade Surveillance Analyst

Salary Range: £93,087 – £103,430

Full‑time, 35 hours per week
Standing Hybrid Working (at least two days per week)
The Senior Trade Surveillance Analyst plays a critical role in monitoring trading activity across multiple asset classes to detect potential market abuse, insider trading, and regulatory breaches. The position involves leading complex investigations, mentoring junior analysts, and contributing to the enhancement of surveillance systems and processes.
Key Accountabilities- Review trade surveillance alerts for suspicious behaviour that may breach laws, regulations, or internal policies, and take appropriate action.
- Conduct ad-hoc deep‑dive investigations into suspicious trading patterns and potential market manipulation.
- Maintain end‑to‑end oversight of the escalation process for suspicious alerts.
- Enhance surveillance processes by identifying issues, calibrating thresholds, and engaging with 1
LOD and 2
LOD to improve control effectiveness and efficiency. - Work closely with Compliance and other stakeholders to respond to regulatory and exchange enquiries.
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments and emerging risks, updating surveillance plans and controls accordingly.
- Produce management information and thematic analysis on alerts, trends, issues, and control effectiveness for Business Heads and Risk Committees.
- Mentor junior colleagues and act as a Trade Surveillance Subject Matter Expert, sharing product and surveillance knowledge across the team.
- Strong commercial experience working in trade surveillance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of FICC products.
- Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework, including Market Abuse rules and FCA principles.

Previous Front Office or Operations experience.
