Are you an experienced finance professional with a strong background in consumer debt, cash collection, and multi‑site operations? This interim opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact quickly, driving improvements across debt management, controls, and financial processes within a complex B2C environment.

About

The Role

The Accounts Receivable Manager will play a pivotal role within our Transactional Finance team, leading bad‑debt reporting, improving cash collection processes, and partnering closely with operational teams across the business. You’ll oversee end‑to‑end debt management, enhance systems and controls, and provide critical insight to senior leadership. This is a hands‑on, commercially focused role where you’ll influence key stakeholders, streamline processes, and ensure robust financial governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full end‑to‑end debt reporting and management process, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Partner with operational teams to coordinate debt collection and resolve issues impacting cash flow
  • Drive process improvements and automation to enhance cash collection and debt allocation
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including aged debt, unallocated receipts, and debt over 30 days
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support audit and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a key link between Finance, Operations, and IT to streamline workflows and integrate systems
  • Support the collection of debt from third‑party insurers
  • Assist with biannual CMA reporting on cremations
Who This Would Suit
  • A strong analyst with excellent systems capability
  • A finance professional used to navigating complex B2C environments where debt recovery is challenging
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing consumer debt in a commercial, multi‑site environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and/or Tableau is advantageous
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
  • Degree‑educated; AAT/CARP or equivalent accounting experience desirable

This role can be based in either Sutton Coldfield or Maidenhead
