Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham

Working Pattern: 4 days on‑site, 1 day remote

Marks Sattin is supporting a fast‑paced, multi‑site organisation in the Education sector in Birmingham to recruit an Interim Management Accountant. The Interim Management Accountant will support the Head of Finance in delivering strategic financial oversight, robust budgetary control, and continuous process improvement to support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Management Accountant include:

• Developing and implementing long‑term financial strategies across multiple sites
• Delivering high‑quality budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Ensuring financial performance aligns with agreed annual budgets
• Producing monthly management accounts and financial forecasts
• Monitoring and reporting on school‑level KPIs
• Overseeing cashflow management and ensuring liquidity across designated sites
• Leading month‑end process improvements in collaboration with wider finance teams
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies
• Supporting year‑end audit preparation and external reporting
• Attending finance meetings outside standard working hours when required

To be considered, you will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA. Qualified by Experience will be considered
• Have proven experience in a growth‑focused environment with a track record of driving change
• Have strong analytical and interpretive skills
• Be an effective communicator and relationship builder across diverse teams
• Be a proficient Microsoft Excel and financial systems user
