Finance Systems Configuration Specialist

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 2 days In-Office)

Network IT are supporting a large and complex organisation looking for a Finance Systems Manager with strong experience in Financae system configuration, administration, and functional support
.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to take full ownership of a Finance system landscape—driving configuration, ensuring stability, and delivering continuous improvements across Finance operations. You will be the central point of expertise for the organisation’s Finance ERP environment, supported by an experienced internal team.

The successful candidate will be proactive, confident working with Finance stakeholders, and able to translate Finance requirements into system configuration, functional changes, and enhanced processes.

As the Finance Systems Manager
, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end configuration, administration, and optimisation of the organisation’s Finance ERP system. This includes managing system controls, maintaining accurate configurations, overseeing release cycles, and ensuring the system supports efficient and compliant Finance processes.

You will act as the functional expert for all Finance modules, ensuring system integrity, delivering improvements, and providing robust Level 2 support. You will manage Finance system governance, documentation, user access, and environment changes.

You will work closely with Finance SMEs, IT partners, and service providers to diagnose issues, implement updates, and ensure continuous system stability.

• Own the configuration, maintenance, and administration of the organisation’s Finance ERP system.
• Manage system changes, enhancements, and configuration updates across Finance modules.
• Resolve Finance system issues, carry out impact analysis, and prevent recurrence through improved configuration or process controls.
• Oversee release cycles, regression testing, and deployment plans for Finance system updates.
• Maintain accurate configuration documentation, process maps, SOPs, functional specifications, and training materials.
• Ensure Finance system governance, including audit compliance, data integrity, and security controls.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and segregation-of-duties controls.
• Deliver functional support to Finance teams, acting as the subject matter expert for all Finance system functionality.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise system capability and Finance processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate Finance requirements into effective system configuration and workflows.
• Strong experience in Finance system administration and configuration (ERP / Finance platforms).
• Hands‑on experience with functional areas such as GL, AP, AR, Expenses, Fixed Assets, or similar

• Proven ability to diagnose functional issues, analyse root cause, and deliver configuration‑led solutions.
• Experience managing release cycles, testing, and system change governance.
• Excellent understanding of Finance processes and how they translate into system configuration.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with Finance stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ability to manage workloads, prioritise changes, and maintain system documentation.
• Supportive leadership style, with experience managing or mentoring a small team.
