Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Tax Associate to join a dynamic and fast-paced tax team within a professional services environment in Birmingham. This role offers exposure to clients in the entertainment sector, working closely with senior leadership and gaining hands-on experience across both compliance and advisory tax work.

The position provides strong development potential, particularly for individuals looking to deepen their technical knowledge and gain experience in niche areas of taxation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, supporting UK tax compliance obligations and deadlines
  • Liaise directly with clients to request information and resolve tax-related queries
  • Prepare complex UK personal tax returns, analysing data and communicating tax implications clearly
  • Assist with drafting tax advisory work and support senior team members on complex assignments
  • Delegate and review work from junior staff where appropriate, helping to manage deadlines
  • Prioritise workload effectively to meet strict reporting timelines
  • Participate in internal tax technical training and development sessions

Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years' experience in a personal tax role, ideally with exposure to owner-managed businesses
  • ATT qualified or working towards/keen to study CTA (study support provided)
  • Strong interest in tax technical development and legislation research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines
  • Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working autonomously
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
