Actuarial Analyst – Pricing – UK Mid Market

Working hours: part‑time, job‑share or full‑time.

Salary: Attractive remuneration and benefits package depending on experience.

Location: Birmingham office; flexible.

What will you be doing?

You will work within the Pricing team on Property, Motor, Casualty and Engineering lines of business focusing on our mid‑market portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and improving the suite of pricing tools and collaborating with underwriters.
  • Conducting pricing analyses on large, complex data sets.
  • Building and maintaining portfolio monitoring dashboards and delivering insight sessions.
  • Modernising pricing capabilities by embedding new market‑leading P&C pricing systems.
  • Learning and applying SQL, R/Python, Power BI and other technical tools.
  • Fostering a positive team culture.
  • Building strong relationships across the company (claims, reserving, underwriting, finance).
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members, with potential future line‑management responsibilities.
What are we looking for? Required
  • Highly numerate and analytical.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured problem‑solving approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive and eager to learn and develop.
Preferable
  • Experience in an actuarial role, preferably in general insurance.
  • Technical experience in Excel, Snowflake/SQL, R, Python, Power BI, VBA.
  • Progress towards actuarial exams or interest in pursuing qualifications.
