The OpportunityA leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join its growing Birmingham tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified tax professional looking to progress their career within a highly regarded tax practice.
Working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, large corporates and international groups, you will gain exposure to a broad range of corporate tax compliance and advisory assignments while developing your leadership and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring compliance deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard.
- Review corporation tax computations, tax returns and supporting schedules prepared by junior team members.
- Assist with the delivery of corporate tax advisory projects, including restructuring, group reorganisations, international tax matters and tax planning assignments.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day tax matters.
- Support Managers, Senior Managers and Partners on complex technical assignments and client projects.
- Monitor workflow, budgets and client deadlines to ensure efficient delivery of services.
- Identify tax risks, planning opportunities and technical issues arising from client work.
- Coach and mentor Tax Seniors and Tax Associates, providing guidance and technical support.
- Participate in business development initiatives, networking opportunities and proposal preparation.
- CTA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience, with ACA or ACCA qualifications also considered.
- Strong UK corporate tax experience gained within practice.
- Experience reviewing corporation tax returns and computations.
- Exposure to advisory work, including restructuring, group tax or international tax matters, would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ambitious and motivated to progress towards Manager level.
