Job Title: Assistant Commercial Accountant

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £40,000 plus excellent benefits

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.15

We’re looking for an Assistant Commercial Accountant to join our Operations finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in a commercial finance role, supporting a UK wide wholesale operation.

Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, supporting forecasts and budgets, and providing insight that helps drive better business decisions. You’ll also have the chance to work with a wide range of stakeholders across both finance and operations.

• Support month end processes including P&L and balance sheet reporting
• Produce management accounts and carry out variance analysis
• Assist with forecasts, budgets and longer-term planning
• Deliver KPI reporting and performance insights
• Partner with depot and operational teams across the UK
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and business decisions

• Experience in a management accounting role
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Confidence using Excel and PowerPoint, and working with financial data
• Good communication skills with the ability to work across teams
• Proactive, organised and able to meet deadlines
• Part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
