We dive deep to develop innovative solutions and don't shy away from challenging the status‑quo. The Hardlines Finance Analyst is responsible for the full P&L of a product line (GL) and will guide strategic decision‑making.
You will partner closely with the Retail team, Finance and other business groups to support and monitor the strategic, financial and operational plans of the consumer business. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to provide analytical support for executive decision‑making based on quantitative analyses and manage projects with multiple stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities- Partner with Business and Finance teams to drive strategic initiatives and long‑term success.
- Develop financial and operational plans to achieve long‑term business goals.
- Conduct business reviews, evaluate progress toward business goals, and communicate progress to senior management.
- Perform analyses and develop financial frameworks to identify opportunities for business improvement.
- Review and report monthly and quarterly financial and operational performance to business leaders.
- Maintain a strong financial control environment.
You will learn how Finance supports the various business teams in forecasting and analyzing actual financial results, managing the external reporting of Amazon's quarterly financial statements and inputting to the launch of new customer‑focused initiatives to ensure customers can find and discover anything and everything they want online.
Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting or a related analytical field.
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive).
- Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos and other financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization.
- Experience identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
- Experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis.
- Demonstrated strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data.
