Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified Financial Accountant to lead the finance function for the UK operations of a rapidly growing, international sustainable energy and distribution business. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller based at head office, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting, compliance, and financial reporting for the UK entity, while supporting the wider group finance function.
This role is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking to make a significant impact within a collaborative, future‑focused industry.
- Lead the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements for the UK entity.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow projections, and update balance sheet control files and reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany transactions, including calculations, postings, and intercompany billing.
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and weekly/monthly payroll journals.
- Support the monthly review of base costs and overheads, and calculate supplier and customer rebates.
- Support the development of the yearly group budget and assist in preparing reporting packs that review actual versus budgeted performance and key performance indicators.
- Maintain the FX register and manage allocated balance sheet reconciliations.
- Liaise with external auditors and support both internal and external audit processes.
- Roll out, embed, and maintain group financial policies, procedures, and business intelligence/analysis tools.
- Assist with wider European subsidiaries and undertake ad hoc finance department activities as required.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA).
- Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role, ideally with 5+ years of post‑qualification experience.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and a solution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and strong experience working with ERP systems.
- Experience with in the renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, construction, or engineering sectors is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with operating in strong control environments is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative international team.
- Must live within a reasonable, commutable driving distance of the Redditch office.
- Eligibility Residency in UK.
Annual salary package and performance‑based annual bonus scheme.
