Located minutes away from Birmingham New Street station (and with local parking), our client, a tier 1 in their sector are seeking someone to join their Finance team which comproises of 6 full time staff working onsite. The business has a t/o of over £500mln and have approx 100 staff.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a keen eye for detail and is looking to broaden their experience within a fast-moving commercial organisation
Key Responsibilities- You’ll be involved in a broad range of finance activities, including:
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing payments for approval.
- Allocating incoming receipts and maintaining accurate customer account balances.
- Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations, investigating any outstanding items.
- Assisting with bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance.
- Supporting the administration of customer accounts and finance-related queries.
- Monitoring shared finance mailboxes and responding to internal and external enquiries.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring supporting documentation is filed appropriately.
- Liaising with banks, suppliers and other external stakeholders where required.
- Assisting with month-end close activities, reconciliations and reporting.
- Supporting continuous improvements to finance processes and administrative controls.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be someone who enjoys working in a structured environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within a finance, accounting or finance administration position.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical ability.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar finance systems.
- Exposure to reconciliations, invoice processing and financial record maintenance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A professional approach when handling confidential financial information.
- The ability to work effectively within a busy, deadline-driven environment.
