We are currently looking for a proactive Director of Real Estate Debt Finance who will spearhead the origination of high-quality transactions that resonate with our mission of supporting ambitious entrepreneurs and flourishing businesses. This position offers significant autonomy in selecting deals and necessitates a strong emphasis on credit discipline and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do
  • Take the initiative to originate, structure, and finalize transactions that meet Oak North's lending standards.
  • Build and strengthen existing customer relationships while actively seeking new opportunities in the market.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to execute real estate and property transactions effectively.
  • Increase the bank's presence in the external market by engaging with SMEs, KBIs, advisors, and private equity firms.
  • Identify and evaluate potential organic and inorganic growth opportunities for Oak North.
  • Prepare and scrutinize financial statements and develop financial models to support decision-making.
  • Analyze financial models, including projected cash flows and sensitivities, to assess debt capacity and repayment capabilities.
  • Ensure all transactions are documented in accordance with approved credit terms and conditions.
  • Meet individual and team objectives related to profitability, credit quality, customer acquisition, retention, and overall satisfaction.
  • Innovate product offerings to enhance customer experience while ensuring asset quality is maintained.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to all clients.
  • Achieve performance targets set by Oak North's Executive Committee, CEO, and Board.
  • Structure transactions effectively and prepare comprehensive credit reports for the sanctioning authority.
  • Maintain robust relationships with clients and ensure timely communication with the credit team in line with policy requirements.
  • Embody Oak North Bank's core values in all professional activities.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge and a strong network within the Real Estate sector, particularly in the North.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business processes, strategic planning, and credit policies.
  • Proficiency in credit analysis, financial evaluation, and modeling, with the capability to produce high-quality, structured credit documentation.
  • Experience in analyzing senior, stretched senior, and mezzanine cash flow unsecured transactions.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation relevant to real estate financing.
  • Proven track record of presenting credit cases to a credit committee effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex financial scenarios.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field is required.
Nice to have
  • Experience in managing a team or mentoring junior staff members.
  • Familiarity with alternative financing solutions and innovative financial products.
  • Previous experience in a banking or financial services environment focused on real estate.
Skills & tools
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of credit assessment methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with relationship management software to enhance client interactions.
