Senior Finance Officer - Acute & Community FIN10b

Experteer Overview In this role you will provide financial management support to Acute & Community services within the BBCS ICB, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. You ll produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial advice to budget holders while helping deliver strategic objectives aligned with the 10 Year Health Plan. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve financial discipline, equity, and productivity, leveraging digital solutions in care pathways.

• Support the Senior Finance Manager with monthly accounting processes, reporting to budget holders, and routine/ad-hoc financial modelling. Provide financial support to commissioning teams, programme managers, and budget holders for Sandwell & West Birmingham and Dudley acute and Community contracts. Undertake financial analysis, investigate variances, support budget setting and in-year monitoring, and advise on decisions. Process journals, invoices, purchase orders, accruals, and credit notes in line with policies and statutory requirements.
  
  Prepare financial reports, support audits and external returns, respond to information requests, and assist with contract and project financial management. Maintain relationships with finance teams, commissioners, providers, local authorities, and external organisations. Contribute to cash flow planning, funding allocations, projects, service developments and performance reviews. Promote governance, accountability and financial stewardship while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience of presenting budget reports to senior audiences. Experience in a finance department and coordinating projects in complex environments.
  
  Experience with Microsoft Office and intermediate keyboard skills. Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate financial information from large data sets. Knowledge of financial policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
