12-month Fixed-Term Contract Financial Ledger Officer
Are you an experienced finance professional with excellent attention to detail and strong ledger experience? This 12-month Fixed-Term Contract Financial Ledger Officer opportunity offers the chance to join a busy Finance team, supporting accurate financial processing, reconciliations and excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Offering £29,500–£31,500 and based in Birmingham, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or accounts experience who enjoys working with financial data, resolving queries and ensuring processes are completed accurately and on time.
This Financial Ledger Officer role offers:- A 12-month fixed-term contract
- £29,500–£31,500 salary
- A supportive and collaborative Finance team
- The opportunity to develop your experience within the social housing sector
- A varied role covering ledgers, reconciliations, payments and month-end
- Maintaining accurate financial records and nominal coding
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Processing supplier invoices, purchase orders and credit notes
- Supporting weekly payment runs and month-end processes
- Managing supplier and customer accounts and Direct Debits
- Completing aged debtor, creditor and supplier statement reconciliations
- Using Excel to analyse and reconcile financial information
- Managing finance queries and resolving payment issues
- Maintaining petty cash and processing credit card transactions
- Handling confidential financial information appropriately
- Supporting the wider Finance team with ad-hoc duties
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent technical knowledge
- Previous finance or accounts experience
- A good understanding of accounting principles
- Strong numerical, analytical and reconciliation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with finance systems, ideally Clear Books and Sage Intacct
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Social housing or housing association experience would be desirable
