Management Accountant Needed! 📊

Management Accountant | 6-Month Contract | £425 p/d | Insurance

We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a leading insurance business on a 12-month contract, supporting month-end reporting, financial controls and the delivery of accurate management accounts.

📍 Birmingham-based: 3 days onsite per week (flexibility to negotiate).

What we’re looking for:

* CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying.

* Strong management accounting experience, ideally within insurance or wider financial services.

* Solid technical finance knowledge, including month-end close, journals, accruals and prepayments.

* Experience preparing monthly management accounts and analysing P&L performance.

* Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting skills.

* Experience with variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.

* Excellent Excel skills and a strong attention to detail.

* Ability to investigate financial discrepancies and provide clear explanations of movements in financial performance.

* Experience working with finance teams and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities:

* Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts.

* Complete month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and other key adjustments.

* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.

* Analyse P&L results against budget and forecast, providing meaningful commentary.

* Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

* Maintain accurate financial records and robust financial controls.

* Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal reporting procedures.

* Identify opportunities to improve month-end processes and reporting efficiency
