Finance Director

Robert Half is partnering with a leading financial services organisation to recruit an exceptional Finance Director.

This is a high-profile leadership role sitting at the heart of the organisation, with responsibility for driving financial performance, shaping strategic direction, and supporting the sustainable growth of the business. Working closely with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, the successful candidate will provide commercial insight, strategic challenge, and operational leadership across all aspects of finance.

The role offers a blend of strategic influence and hands-on leadership, requiring an individual who can balance long-term business objectives with robust financial governance, risk management, and performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities Lead the finance function across financial reporting, planning, treasury, tax, forecasting, and compliance activities.

Deliver high-quality financial analysis and insight to support business strategy and commercial decision-making.

Partner with senior leaders to identify opportunities for growth, profitability improvement, and operational efficiency.

Develop and enhance management information, performance reporting, and business intelligence capabilities.

Optimise cash flow, capital deployment, and funding arrangements to support business objectives.

Establish meaningful financial and operational metrics to monitor business performance and drive accountability.

Ensure effective financial controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance standards are maintained.

Assess business risks and support informed decision-making across commercial and operational activities.

Lead, develop, and inspire a capable finance team, creating a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

Drive transformation initiatives, leveraging technology, automation, and data analytics to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing challenge, guidance, and financial leadership.

Candidate Profile Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within financial services, or a similarly regulated environment.

Strong understanding of financial reporting, planning, treasury management, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance.

Experience supporting executive-level decision-making through commercial insight and strategic analysis.

Proven track record of leading teams through change, transformation, and business growth.

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at Board and executive level.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where both strategic thinking and operational delivery are required.

Passionate about automation, and data to enhance business performance.
