Regional Head of Corporate Affairs

Our client, a large global bank, is seeking a Regional Head of Corporate Affairs based in Birmingham. This role involves managing relationships with governments, politicians, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders. The aim is to advocate the client's interests in policy discussions and shape the client's response to emerging policy trends. This position requires the development and execution of an external advocacy and policy strategy.

The successful candidate will collaborate with senior managers, industry groups, think tanks, and agencies to gain policy insights and determine policy goals. They will also develop advocacy campaigns and initiatives that support the client's policy efforts through public and private engagements, education, and lobbying.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a commercial mindset with experience in government, politics, media, consultancy, or regulated corporate environments. They should have held previous roles in financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries. Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence diverse audiences. The candidate should be skilled in interpreting public policy and political developments, assessing their impact, and communicating effectively.

The role requires strong communication abilities, including proficiency in crafting corporate communication strategies aligned with business goals and managing crisis communications. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated project management experience and a track record of successful campaign execution.
