This is an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join the Libertatem Healthcare Group in Birmingham. The role involves providing exceptional care and support to individuals with spinal injuries, helping them live independently and with dignity in their own homes. The successful candidate will work as part of a 2:1 ratio team, responsible for a range of duties including personal care, catheter and bowel management, respiratory support, and emotional/social support.
Mainduties of the job
As a Spinal Injury Support Worker, you will be responsible for assisting clients with personal care, catheter and bowel management, respiratory support, medication administration, meal preparation, and supporting with physical activities and mobility. You will also provide emotional support and companionship to help clients maintain their independence and quality of life. The role requires excellent communication skills, a caring and compassionate nature, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Role Overview: We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Spinal Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Birmingham, working on a 2:1 ratio. To support their independence and lifestyle, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
- Catheter Care & Bowel Management
- Respiratory Management (cough assist/suctioning)
- Autonomic Dysreflexia Management
- Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
- Administering medication (training provided)
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Supporting with mobility and physical activities
- Light housekeeping duties
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with Spinal Injury, catheter care and bowel management
- A caring and compassionate nature
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A valid UK driving licence essential to drive the WAV during shifts essential.

Person Specification Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role, supporting clients with spinal injuries, catheter care, and bowel management is required. A valid UK driving license is also essential to drive the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) during shifts.
