Purpose of job
To provide person centred meaningful activity and stimulation for all residents. To maintain and update social media.
Main responsibilities- To produce and maintain a varied activities schedule
- To promote special events and themed days
- To contribute to new ideas for fund raising, newsletters, social media and social activity
- To be aware of the needs and abilities of each individual
- To promote independence and safety at all times
- To risk assess each activity in consultation with the Manager
- To assist with organising outings for the residents
- To encourage participation in the activity sessions
- To record resident participation in each activity
- To contribute to regular Facebook posts on the company Facebook page.
- To assist when required at mealtimes and with drinks
- To record any Safeguarding concerns immediately to the Lead Person on duty
- To organise and host monthly meetings with residents and provide meeting minutes.
No formal qualifications are necessary but experience in providing activities for older persons preferred. In house training and online training will be provided.
Personal Qualities- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Friendly and outgoing nature and able to demonstrate an empathy with the residents
- Honest and reliable
- Enthusiastic and resourceful
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Understanding and patience
- Sense of humour
- Willing to learn
